Community Support |
Vocational AssistanceIn cooperation with other community agencies, our team is able to assist individuals in accessing funding and training for realistic vocational goals. Our counseling team has accreditation allowing administration of some vocational assessments as needed. Our services can include job search, vocational exploration, resume writing and supportive on-the-job coaching. Vocational Assistance invloves 3 phases: planning, job development and on-the-job assistance. PlanningThis involves career exploration, coaching, and assessments such as vocational interest and personality testing, labor market analysis, and transferable skills analysis. At the end of vocational planning, clients will have established a clear, viable employment goal with specific details for a placement to succeed. Job DevelopmentThis will include resume preparation, cover letter draft, interview practice, and job search leads. An InFocus Job Developer will evaluate the client's specific needs and capabilities, and match those to an appropriate strategy to meet the established employment goals. The Job Developer may contact employers on behalf of the client to facilitate initial meetings and interviews. If the client is ready and able, the job developer will provide such job leads and then assist the client in independent efforts to secure gainful employment. The Job Developer will also assist in providing post interview assessment and feedback as needed. On The Job AssistanceOn-the-Job assistance includes job coaching and on-site task analysis. The coach provides on the job support, training, assessment, and guidance. The coach works side-by-side with the client initially to ensure a smooth transition into the employment environment. The coach models strategies to increase workload productivity, implement safe work practices, and to effectively organize job tasks. The coach also provides ongoing encouragement, feedback, and guidance. The coach will problem solve with the client when possible obastacles are encountered. The coach recommends necessary resources based on needs and facilitates communication between the client and the employer. When the client has mastered the requirements of the job, the coach will move into the role of supervisor until it has been determined that the client is ready to work independently. |
